YEAR 2

Year 2 students have worked like ‘busy bees’ in the last term of this year to learn so many new concepts. They enjoyed being at school and playing with their friends who they missed during remote learning. I am impressed with the progress they have made despite the tough circumstances we all had to go through.

In English, they have learnt how to write a good persuasive text and to use correct grammar while writing and reading. It was great to use the Spelling Mastery program during Term 4 as we missed it during remote learning. Their reading and comprehension skills have improved remarkably!

During Math sessions, they focused on collecting, interpreting, and displaying data. They also learnt the concept of volume, capacity, months, seasons, and the use of calendars. I am happy with their results.

In Science, they learnt about forces, the various types of simple machines and their use in making our daily lives easier. As part of their Science project, our ‘Year 2 Engineers’ designed their own toy cars which looked fabulous! They enjoyed their Art, P.E., ICT (Information, Communication and Technology) and sports sessions like always.

I am proud of my students and their achievements. I am glad that I was their teacher and I thoroughly enjoyed teaching this wonderful group of Year 2s. I would like to congratulate every single student and parent for their hard work and effort during this unexpected year. I wish them good luck for the forthcoming year.

Enjoy your well-deserved summer break!
